Service Fees
Most of our services do not have a fee, but there are exceptions.
-
Plan To Go - in some cases, we will request a "Plan To Go" retainer before we begin work on your vacation plans. This is not a fee but is an upfront deposit applied towards your trip final balance as long as you book with us. This allows us to be compensated for our time and expertise.
-
Packages - there is no fee for booking, however, there is a minimum of $25.00 per person cancel fee in addition to the supplier's fees.
-
Customized trip plans for places like Europe have a $100.00 per person fee minimum if we aren't able to put together a traditional "package." We will advise you of the fee up front.
Supplier's fees can cost up to the full cost of your trip.
Ask for details or see the insurance link on our website for more information on travel insurance.
All fees are subject to change at any time.
Summary of our Terms and Conditions
You are purchasing travel arrangements from our agency. We appreciate your business and want to make sure that you completely understand all aspects of your arrangements.
With all travel arrangements, Michelle’s Destinations acts only as an agent. Our agency maintains no control over the personnel, equipment or operations of any supplier and assumes no responsibility for, and shall not be expected, asked or required to pay for any financial loss, personal injury, property damage, other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which you may experience either by reason of:
1. Nonperformance by any supplier for whatever reason:
2. Wrongful, careless, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions on the part of any supplier or its employees or on the part of any other party not under the control of the agency; or
3. Any defect, breakdown or other failure of any aircraft, train, automobile, ship, accommodation or other equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by a supplier.
4. Weather, terrain, “acts of God," or anything else that is not under the direct control of Michelle’s Destinations.
Please check all names, dates, and prices for accuracy. Names are difficult if not impossible to change; date changes can affect availability and price. Suppliers charge penalties to change names, dates and other items that affect the overall price of the trip.
Documentation is required for all types of travel. Names must be spelled exactly as they are listed on either your driver’s license or passport. Passports or a state issued birth certificate will be required depending on your destination. Minors may require additional documentation if traveling alone or if either parent is not the birth parent. Documentation required for travel is the sole responsibility of the traveler. The agents of Michelle's Destinations will do their best to inform travelers of the requirements, but will not be responsible for errors or omissions.
Many countries will not allow entry or require special permission if you have had a conviction of any sort of crime, misdemeanor or DUI. It is your responsibility to find out if the country you are traveling to has any such restrictions in the event you have had legal issues.
More information on the entry requirements can be found at www.travel.state.gov
You can also find passport information, visa requirements, and other travel requirements on this site.
It is your responsibility to ensure you can obtain a US Passport book if required for your trip. If you are flying to another country, a passport BOOK and NOT A CARD is what you need to travel as a US Citizen.
While the travel agency does it’s best to keep clients informed of any health or other restrictions related to the destinations you are traveling to, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of health issues that may affect you, such as Zika Virus, Dengue Fever, Malaria or other diseases and to obtain any vaccines or to take any precautions required or recommended. Information can be found on www.cdc.gov . It is recommended you speak with a health professional or Doctor to determine any precautions you may need based on your own heath.
It is important that if you are or should become pregnant to advise the travel agency as airlines and cruise lines have restrictions on how far along you can be to travel while pregnant.
Car rentals require all renters to have a major credit card. In addition, age restrictions may also apply. Some states are checking driving records and may refuse to rent to someone whose driving record is questionable. Make sure you bring a copy of your car insurance with you for proof in case you have a problem and have elected not to take the rental companies insurance.
I understand that hotels require a cash deposit or major credit card upon check in. Many hotels charge a resort fee upon arrival. Michelle's Destinations has no control over hotel requirements or fees. Please ask for policy information if you do not have a major credit card (that's not a debit card)
Trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance is available at an additional cost to help protect you from certain unexpected events. The terms of insurance coverage are controlled by the actual insurance policy issued.
Suppliers charge penalties that range from a nominal fee to the entire cost of the trip if you cancel. Please make sure you understand the penalties involved and what travel insurance will and will not cover.
If you have purchased travel insurance you will receive a refund from the insurance company or supplier if your reason for cancellation is covered under the policy purchased, less the amount you spent for insurance. Michelle’s Destinations Unlimited also reserves the right to charge a cancellation penalty depending on what is required to secure a refund on your behalf.
Availability of refunds for unused travel reservations will vary with the type of reservation and the point at which reservations were not used. Please note that when you purchase travel services, your money immediately belongs to the supplier. If you cancel, Michelle’s Destinations will not refund money until it has been received from the supplier. In the event of any supplier bankruptcy, you should seek refunds directly from the supplier or bankruptcy court.
I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure all proper travel documents are obtained for travel and that any costs associated in obtaining proper travel documentations including, but not limited to, passports, visas, or government fees are my sole responsibility.
I understand it is my responsibility to ensure my passport is up to date and has the minimum validity required by the country I am going to. I also understand many countries will not allow persons with DUI's, felonies, or even misdemeanors to enter their country and it is my responsibility to ensure that I am able to enter the country I am going to should this apply to me.
